Bourbon vanilla extract from Madagascar is made in Quebec from bourbon vanilla pods, from the property of Jean-Claude Mena and Mounirah Philibert, in the Sava region of Madagascar. This area, located completely in the northeast of the country, is considered the "world capital" of vanilla.
