The Perle hop is a German variety that has steadily gained recognition since its release in 1978. It offers good bittering properties combined with the pleasant herbal and spice aromas sought after in German cultivars. Perle has a similar oil profile to Hallertau Mittelfrüh with Humulene as the main contributor (sometimes over 50% of total oils). Perle's storage stability is excellent, making it highly sought after by professional brewers. Perle hops are said to have a pleasant aroma, hints of mint and pine resin with a spicy hint.
